MP: Non-receivers 2nd Covid jab receive SMS saying they must

Praveen Dwivedi Bhopal, Nov 28, : The Madhya Pradesh government has been making every effort to provide both doses of Covid-19 vaccine for its eligible population (over 18 years) by 2021.It has been implementing different guidelines to different parts of the state in order to reach the target.

People in the state are also receiving messages stating that they have received their second dose, even though the first dose is still due.

Surprisingly, these messages are being received via cowin.gov.in.This official website is under the supervision of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.IANS has received over a dozen of these messages in the last week.It has been confirmed that the majority of those who have received such messages come from two districts in the state: Shahdol and Rewa.

IANS provided contact information and details for many people who received these messages.They indicated that they were sent to people who are due for their second dose in the next few days, or to people who have moved and missed their second jab.

Manas Dwivedi, his father Ramesh and his second jab were due on November 13.Manas received his first dose in Gangeo, his hometown in Rewa district, during an August vaccination camp.He then moved to Bhopal in September for a private job.His second dose was due November 13.Although he did not receive his second dose, Manas received a message from his registered mobile number on November 22.It stated, “Dear Manas, congratulations, you have successfully completed all doses COVID-19 vaccine.” Your certificate can be downloaded at cowin.gov.in.

“My father and me had both received the first dose of vaccine at the same time at the camp that was held in our village in August.My father missed his second dose due to ill health and I missed mine.

We both received messages confirming that we had received both doses.I downloaded a certificate for the second dose from government’s official site.

Is it possible to receive the second dose in this way? Manas said.

Another example comes from Rewa district.

On November 1, Ashrfilal Gupta, the father, and Sikha Gupta, received messages stating that they had received their second doses of Covid-19 vaccine.However, they claimed they hadn’t received their second dose.

IANS has verified that they have found more than a dozen such cases in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol and Rewa districts.Rewa and Shahdol health officials said they weren’t aware of such messages but will investigate if they are contacted with complaints.

According to data from the Madhya Pradesh state government, the Covid-19 vaccine is available to approximately 5.49 million people.Up to November 26, 8.45 crore doses of vaccine were administered.

Madhya Pradesh’s government has launched a month-long vaccination campaign to reach its goal of inoculating 100% of the eligible population by the end.The government has been issuing different guidelines at various times.District administrations were given the responsibility of providing vaccination for 100 percent of the population within their jurisdictions.Many district administrations have devised innovative ways to encourage people to get their vaccine doses.

The state and district administrations have taken measures to encourage people to get their vaccine doses.

Food and Civil Supplies Department announced that fair price shops will only be available to those who have received both doses of the vaccine.

On November 7, 2021, a notice was sent to the department.

Several traders and district administrations have also come up with innovative ways to help the state government achieve its goal.

Namkeen (traditional savouries) will only be available to those who have taken both the Sev and Namkeen doses in Ratlam, the western part.

Last week, liquor shops in Mandsaur announced a 10% discount on Indian-made liquor for those who had taken both the recommended and unapproved doses.

The move was met with criticism and the decision was reversed within 24 hours.

Health workers also visit villages door-to-door to organize vaccination camps.

They also visit forests and fields, particularly in tribal areas, to administer vaccine doses.
