Islamabad 9 Aug : PTI leader and Imran Khan’s chief of staff, Shehbaz Gill, has been arrested on sedition-related charges, reports in the media said. Imran Khan has called for an emergency meeting of the PTI party over Gill’s arrest of Gill.Gill’s arrest first came out by PTI’s Fawad Chaudhry and Murad Saeed on Twitter, Samaa TV reported.
“Shahbaz Glll was abducted from Bani Gala Chowk by people who arrived in vehicles with no plates for number plates.” Chaudhry said in a tweet.
Bani Gala Chowk is located just a few hundred meters from Imran Khan’s Bangi Gala residence.
Another PTI leader Murad Saeed also confirmed his arrest, and claimed the windows made of glass of his car had been broken.He further claimed Gill’s associate of Gill was beat to death.
A video posted on Twitter by the official Twitter handle of PTI revealed broken glass.The PTI Twitter handle did not have any official announcement about the arrest of Gill.
However, sources from the police stated that Gill was taken into custody in the connection with an FIR filed against Gill, Samaa TV reported.
He is charged with sedition and is accused of inciting in connection with an online troll campaign against institutions, according to sources.Gill was moved to an unidentified location.
A team of investigators is investigating a troll-related campaign which was launched shortly after the crash of a Pakistan Army helicopter crashed in Balochistan’s Lasbela district.
Murad Saeed, in his tweets, declared that in his tweets, a “horrible plan” was hatched the previous (Monday) at night.
Saeed did not provide any details about the claimed plan he was talking about.
However Sheikh Rasheed who is an ally of Imran Khan has also spoke about Khan’s potential removal from the country and arrest.
