Los Angeles, Sep 8 : “Pacific Rim” star Idris Elba could have starred in many of popular movies, but the one he is most frequently asked about is one he has never played.The actor finally came out after being confronted with an avalanche of questions about becoming James Bond.
Elba isn’t thrilled about being a part of the show of the adorable agent, according to Deadline.
“I’m not going to lie,” he said in the most recent episode of “The Shop” podcast, which was cited by Deadline.”Every place in the world of the globe I go to – and I’m talking about various cultures and they always say”Bond!”” Elba said by making a gesture in imitation of fans.
Elba, in spite of years of questions, is willing to discuss the possibility of the role.”It is not my goal for my career,” the actor said in a blunt manner.”I do not think playing Bond can satisfy all of my goals personally.”
Deadline also quoted him as saying in the show: “And I feel it is beyond me at this point.I’m not sure what to do.It’s not a matter of”Should I? Do I? Will I?, it’s what the will of the nation dictates,” he added, before speculating that even the discussion could be beneficial.
“I’m not the guy you think I am however in the world of everyone else, I could be.That’s it – job accomplished.Because that, you know, lots of people are thinking of Idris acting as Bond as the “alternative Bond’.
As long that the alternative exists it’s excellent for the development of casting.******I casting”, he added.
