President of India, Ramnath Kovind has full-fledged appointed Vice-Chancellors of 12 central universities across the country.Recently, he signed the relevant file.
Of these 12, two are from Telugu states.Professor Basutkar Jagadeeshwar Rao (BJ Rao) was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Hyderabad.
Professor BJ Rao’s hometown is Mahabubnagar of Telangana.Prof.
Basutkar Jagadeshwar Rao studied in government schools and colleges in the local Bandlagiri area.Later, he completed his graduation with BSc from Nizam College, Hyderabad and his M.Sc.from Osmania University.He holds a PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and post-doctoral research at Yale Medical School in the United States.
From 1996 to 2018, he served as a Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.
He has been a Senior Professor of Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research(IISER), Tirupati till 2018.His research papers have been published in several national and international journals on biology.
Professor BJ Rao’s wife, Hymavathi, served as a scientist.
Professor Saeed Ainul Hasan has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Hyderabad.
The President also appointed OU retired Professor Bhattu Satyanarayana as the Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Central University.Professor
