For the past 16 years, since the IIFA Weekend and Awards came into being, so much has changed, so many people influenced, countries explored & many new audiences added.The 3-day IIFA Weekend celebrates Indian Cinema in its grandest form, with elements of culture, business, film, fashion, entertainment and music from India.
This time the event has been planned in our Hyderabad and the event organizers when all set with the event, the organizers have postponed the event and have released an official statement regarding the event and will reveal the re scheduled dates soon.
In the wake of the tragic floods and a state of emergency in Chennai, Team IIFA Utsavam in solidarity with people in Chennai, has decided to postpone the inaugural celebrations that were scheduled on the 4th to 6th December.
The 1st edition in conjunction with the film industries of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam will now be held as a fund raiser in early January 2016.The IIFA leadership with all key stakeholders, the South Indian film industry and the hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and hon’ble Governor of Telangana ESL Narasimhan took a unanimous decision to postpone the event.” IIFA revealed in a statement.
