“Jango” is India’s first loop movie. It’s a bold attempt at storytelling. It’s difficult to choose to make a movie knowing that scenes will be repeated and the sequences may have to be repeated. This is especially true in a world where attention spans are shrinking.

Mano Karthikeyan seems to be up to the challenge and has chosen to create a movie with an imaginative plot.

Satheesh Kumar plays Dr Gautham, a popular and successful neurosurgeon.

He wakes up on Monday and continues his daily business. He receives a call from his hospital letting him know that the child from Pakistan he had treated that morning had died.

He goes to bed, wakes up in the morning to see the exact same events as the day before.Everything happens again, from the first call to his mother, to the interview with a journalist to the announcement of the baby’s death, and the maid.

He becomes worried. The doctor isn’t sure if the patient has experienced deja vu, or whether he has been stuck in time.

The doctor keeps reliving Mondays over and over, but he can’t remember Tuesday.Surprisingly, the only person who remembers these events is the doctor.

Everyone else appears to be unable to recall the details.

Although initially worried, the doctor soon realizes that this completely unexpected turn of events can work in his favor.

He starts to correct the mistakes that he made.He transforms from a scared doctor into one who is super confident.

Just as everything seems to be getting better, the doctor discovers that there is another person in peril and that they are not the only ones stuck in the time loop.

Mano Karthikeyan is to be commended for the first half of the film, which manages engaging viewers even though the same day’s events are repeated over and over again.

He shows some events from day 1, but keeps adding a few developments on the next day as he goes. This keeps the film’s first half interesting and keeps the viewer hooked.

However, the way the story is told in the second part raises too many questions, and only a few answers. This leaves viewers confused.

This frustrates the viewer and makes it seem like an exhausting task.

This aside, there are some mistakes made by the main character while speaking English.

All the actors in this film give decent performances. As Dr Gautham, Satheesh does an excellent job.He delivers what is expected.Mrinalini, the film’s heroine, does a good job.

The supporting roles of two actors are a great way to showcase their talents.Hareesh Perradi plays the role of a doctor who creates artificial hearts.

Velu Prabhakaran plays the part of a director.

Karunakaran convincingly plays both the policeman and friend roles.

The music of Ghibran and Karthik Thalai’s cinematography is just okay.Mano Karthikeyan’s film is both entertaining and confusing.

He must be credited for trying something so difficult.
