Kochi, Nov 24, : .A day later, a 21 year-old law student was found hanging from her home near here.
Police took her husband and his parents into custody on Wednesday. The victim had written a suicide note requesting the harshest punishment for her husband Suhail and his parents Yusuf, Rukhia.
The police team arrested the three men from the house of their relatives near Kothamangalam at 3:00 a.m.on Wednesday.
The woman also demanded that C.L., the local police officer, be taken to task in her note.Sudheer was criticized for failing to address her complaint and siding alongside her “tormentors”.
Top police officers began an investigation as soon as the news spread.
They removed Sudheer from his post and launched an investigation into his actions.
The young couple were in a love marriage.
However, soon after, the man’s family began demanding dowry.The couple lived apart for several months.
V.D.is the leader of the Opposition Satheesan, who hails from the area, criticised the police’s “callous attitude” in demanding corrective actions.
