New Delhi, Nov 26th : , Prime Minister Narendra Modi blasted the opposition parties on Friday and asked: “How can the parties that have lost their democratic character preserve democracy?”
Prime Minister Modi spoke at the Constitution Day celebrations held in the Central Hall of Parliament.The event was boycotted 14 opposition parties, including Congress.

He pointed out that India is headed towards a crisis and said, “In India, the form of family-based party, India is heading toward a kind of crisis, which is something of concern for people devoted to Constitution, and a matter for concern for those who believe democracy.”

“More than one person in a family joining the party on merit does not make it dynastic.The Prime Minister stated that problems arise when a party’s leadership is the same family, generation after generations.”

The Prime Minister lamented the loss of the Constitution’s spirit, and that every section of it has been damaged, when political parties lose the democratic character.

He asked, “How can the parties which have lost their democratic character, preserve democracy?”

The Prime Minister warned against glorifying corrupt criminals and forgetting them.He stated that while reform is important, it was important not to glorify such people in public life.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to great visionaries like Babasaheb Ambedkar and Dr.Rajendra Prasad.Mahatma Gandhi was also mentioned.

He said that today is the day for saluting this House.Under the leadership of such stalwarts the nectar of our Constitution emerged after much churning.

The Prime Ministers also bowed to 26/11 martyrs.”Today 26/11 is such an awful day for us.The terrorist attack in Mumbai was carried out by the enemies of our country.The brave soldiers of the nation gave their lives fighting terrorists.”Today, I bow to their sacrifices,” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister stated that the Constitution Day should be celebrated as well because it is important to constantly evaluate whether our path is right or wrong.

“Mahatma Gandhi had tried prepare the nation for these duties, while fighting for the rights of the freedom movement.

It would have been more effective if the duty was emphasized after independence.He said that the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’requires us to continue on the path of duty in order to protect our rights.”
