Karnataka police have arrested Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna’s personal assistant (PA) Balaji for playing high-tech poker.The Karnataka Special Task Force police on Sunday raided a gambling center at Nagirigera BNR restaurant in Gauribidanur taluka of Chikballapur district on the Andhra-Karnataka border.
Along with Balakrishna’s PA Balaji 19 other people were arrested.Rupees 1,56,750 cash, 8 cars and 3 bikes were seized from them.
Among those arrested were teachers as well as politicians.They were produced before the Gudibande court by the Gauribidanur police on Monday.The judge ordered their remand.However, Shekhar, who had previously served as Balakrishna PA, was also jailed for committing massive corruption in the Panchayati Raj branch.
Hindupuram people are debating whether all PA’s of Balakrishna behaviour will be the same as the current PA Balaji who was also caught by the police playing poker.TDP MLA Balakrishna PA playing poker with YCP leaders has become a topic of discussion in the district political circles.
