The order came keeping in mind about the second wave of Covid-infections.
The Telangana High Court has directed the State Government to increase the testing capacity to one lakh per day.The panel consisting of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B Vijaysen Reddy asked the State government to take necessary steps to restrict the Covid-19 pandemic.The panel has also asked to improve the infrastructure to fight with the second wave of Covid-infections.
The court felt the Government is increasing the test just at the time of hearing dates.One of the petitioners said the Government has not come up with a Disaster management procedure and it did not even care about the complaints received against private hospitals.
The Petitioners counsel said Telangana failed in increasing the number of RT-PCR labs and an increase in the number of tests would require an increase in the number of testing labs.On hearing several arguments, the court further directed the State to look into ICMR recommended tests and adjourned the case after 26.11.2020.Further, the court directed the State to increase testing to 1 lakh per day and asked the petitioners to file data of testing done in the past three months.
