The Andhra Pradesh state government has spent over Rs 685.72 crore on the treatment of the Covid-19 victims by including it in the Arogyasree scheme.Even in September, 92 per cent of Covid patients are being treated for free under the Arogyasree scheme.
The Andhra Pradesh state government has also included black fungus (mucormycosis) in Arogyasree along with Corona.
With this, the people of Andhra Pradesh received the most expensive treatment without any financial burden.Also, the state government provided free home isolation kits to millions of people receiving treatment at home.
The state government spent an average of Rs 34,000 per Covid patient under the Arogyasree scheme.
Health experts from many parts of the country lauded the services of the Andhra Pradesh state government.
However, more than 490 black fungus victims are still being treated for free in private and public hospitals under Arogyasree.Also, they are receiving expensive posaconazole tablets free of cost even after discharge.
