New Delhi, Aug 15 : People who made calls on their mobiles on Monday were in for a pleasant surprise when they were greeted with an invitation to upload a picture with the Indian flag on
According to government officials the Caller tunes have been changed as component of the government’s effort to Encourage the raising of the Tricolour during the day of Independence Day.

A message requesting the person calling to upload a photo, followed by a brief video of the Har Ghar Tiranga theme plays before the phone rings.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign organized by the Union Culture Ministry, aims to see 20 million households in the country fly the national flag between the 13th of August between August 13 and August 15, and invites people to share pictures with the flag.

An official of the Culture ministry has said the announcement is just intended for Monday.It will run all day long to highlight the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and urge people to upload photos with the flag.

Nearly 4.70 million selfies have been uploaded, the website said at about two p.m.on Monday with the numbers increasing every second.The site has selfies, which include those of the Home Minister Amit Shah as well as actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth and Anupam Kher and cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and other famous faces.
