Google will help Indian Startups emerge stronger: Rajev Chandrasekhar

New Delhi, Nov 18, : , Inviting Google for further assistance in India’s $1 trillion digital economy target by 2025, Rajev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister-of-State for IT, said that collaboration between Google and Sundar Pichai-run Google would help Indian startup emerge stronger during the current pandemic.
Chandrasekhar addressed the 7th edition of the “Google for India” virtual event and said that this collaboration was a wonderful example of how industry and government can collaborate to support the growth local businesses.

I am optimistic and certain that selected startups will emerge stronger under Google’s mentoring.He said that he would invite Google to join India’s $1 Trillion digital economy mission.This will open the door for other industries.”

In July 2013, Google announced that it would invest Rs 75,000 crore (or $10 billion) in India over the next five- to seven years.

According to the minister, India has digitally empowered itself under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision of Digital India.

We have the vision of making India a $1 Trillion digital economy by 2025.

Chandrasekhar stated that India’s priority is to increase connectivity.He also said India will be the most connected country by making all Indian citizens internet-connected in an open, secure, trustworthy, and accountable internet age.

The minister emphasized the rapid growth of electronics manufacturing in India and said that India was on the verge of being a major player in the global electronics manufacturing value chain.

Google made an announcement last year that it would invest $10 billion to India.

This was in order to help India achieve its digital transformation faster, more efficiently, and to be a trusted partner.The government appreciated Google’s contribution not only with investments, but with technology and platforms to speed up digital adoption.

Chandrasekhar stated that this relationship is a story of empowerment and inclusion for our “Digital India” story.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister, stated at the event that the government was committed to giving Indians all opportunities to improve their skills because of the potential for the digital economy to create millions more jobs.

It is encouraging to see Google Career Certificates offer training in digital skills, and to launch an employer association to promote employment.He said that if every Indian citizen can access digital skills, India will soon become a trillion-dollar digital country.
