Google-backed Dunzo to pilot drone delivery of vaccine and medicines in T’gana

The Telangana government is all set to supply vaccines, and medicines to primary healthcare centres by drones.This will be on board from the 22nd of this month in Vikarabad as a pilot project.

Hyderabad-based AirServe Startup and Autonomous Aerial Services are ready to supply medicines and vaccines.A total of 16 PHCs in the district were taken up under this pilot project.

Following the success of the Vikarabad pilot project, the government will expand these services across the state.

AirServe is one of Silicon India Magazine’s Top 10 Drone Service Providers of 2021.

It is one of the seven consortiums selected by the state government for the ‘Medicine from the Sky’ project.The Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation have already permitted to administer vaccines, medicines, blood, etc.

AirServe Director Aniketh Madhusudan said they had built UAVs with a temperature-controlled medical box to transport the vaccines safely.He said the policy was chosen as part of an alternative route.

He said medicines, Covid vaccines, blood, diagnostic samples and other medical equipment would be picked up and delivered safely, accurately and reliably by these drones.
