Panaji 5 Aug : Every single the country has accepted taxi aggregaters, Goa cannot be different from that as stated Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday.He promised to solve the taxi issue within three months to come.
“We must introduce an app-based taxi aggregator service.We will find an answer to this in the next three months” he said.

Saying that tourism industry stakeholders have brought up questions about the use of taxis, Sawant said that the tourism industry is impacted because of the lack of an app-based aggregator.

“Good that you got to learn about this from the stakeholders themselves, what the industry of tourism is affected.

Taxi drivers may inquire about who is saying that (that tourism is affected) However, I am not telling you, the stakeholders have spoken about it in the front of you.Therefore, I believe that this issue must be resolved and we’ll do the same,” Sawant told reporters following an interview with tourism experts.

The issue was discussed by Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the taxi problem will be solved through getting the coastal MLAs in confidence.

“There are concerns of aggregaters in regards of transportation.

We need to know the dynamic of Goa which has a very small population.Everyone wants to see the sky, but we have to focus on the economics of Goa as a state.

Therefore, keeping the balance in the equation and making sure that things are in order We have already started with “Goa miles”.Now we are one step further and looking to find an aggregater of our own.To accomplish this, a high-powered committees are set up under chief minister,” Khaunte said.

He stated that prior to when the tourist season begins the government must make an advantage in the issue of aggregaters is concerned.”Chief Minister has urged the opposition as well as the ruling party to make sure that minor questions, whether political or apolitical, shouldn’t hinder the process of thinking of the economics of the government,” Khaunte said.

A record number of tourists travel to Goa each year.

Tourism industry officials are hopeful that it will grow following the commissioning of Mopa airport in Goa is inaugurated.
