“The television, social media and pop culture glamorized an individual style of living and, unfortunately we are blindly replicating the same.Instead of celebrating our unique culture and heritage we are allowing our distinct identities to be distorted,” he said.

The CJI highlighted that with rapid globalisation and huge advancements in technology and science diverse identities and cultures are interfering with one another with greater frequency.

He said that, while his remarks should not be interpreted as criticism of globalisation in general The current issues indicate that something is wrong with the current system of globalisation.

“Although we’ve achieved great strides but our societies are becoming more divided on access to resources and wealth,” he observed.

Citing the 2021 UNESCO World Report of Languages the Chief Justice noted that half of the 7700 languages spoken in the world today could disappear at the middle of the century.

with the loss of every language individuals are not only losing significant literary and folklore but are also the wisdom passed down over the years.

He also pointed out that globalisation had also had a major impact on genetic diversity.”We are seeing a rapid decline of variety of crops as well as wild species as well as indigenous livestockspecies,” he said.

Since the market is driven by the demands of the world economy growing numbers of farmers are shifting away from indigenous crops to reap short-term profits.

this shift in the way they grow crops is altering the nature of soils, and thereby decreasing its capacity to sustain biodiversity.

In the same way environmental pollution and climate change can also affect the wild species, and resulting in an enormous ecological discord, he said.

He said that a different facet of globalisation is the impact it has on local artisans and handicrafts.”With multinational brands flooding markets with mass-produced models and goods, local artisans are being pushed to the back,” he said.

He demanded that all institutions to provide an area of study on the fundamental concepts of the Constitution and governance, regardless of the course of learning. He pointed out that there was a need to simplify the concepts of the Constitution to make it easier for everyone to understand and the empowerment of all.

The CJI believes that true education is the only way to nurture real impulses and independence. He advised youth to take a deep dive and make a change inside instead of being slaves of the status the norm.
