Ghazal legend Vithal Rao goes missing

Pandit Vithal Rao, a legendary ghazal singer from Telangana state and one of the last court musicians of the Nizam era, has been missing since May 29 from Shirdi in Maharashtra.The 86-year-old veteran musician was last seen while he was on his way for a darshan at the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi with his family.

A team of Rao’s pupils have launched a search operation and Vithal rao’s daughter spoke to media about his father missing.”When my entire family came out after seeking Sai Baba’s darshan at the Shirdi temple on May 29, we found my father missing,” Vithal Rao’s daughter Sandhya said.

Mr Rao was to be one of the recipients of the state award on June 2 (TS Formation Day.As per sources he is suffering from Alzheimer’s(memory loss).Rao’s students, including those from Mumbai, have posted a page on Facebook titled ‘Finding Vithal Rao’.
