Santiago 22 Nov : .Chile’s presidential, parliamentary and regional elections were held in Santiago amid the Covid-19 pandemic.High attendance was recorded at the polls.

Andres Tagle (president of Chile’s Electoral Service) urged voters to use official sources to get information so that they don’t spread false news, “that could cause great damage to our democracy exercise.”

Enrique Paris, Minister of Health said that, despite an increase in Covid-19-related cases in September, indicators had stabilized in the past two weeks and Chile registered a positive rate of 3.4% last week.

Chile has so far seen 1,743,137 Covid-19-related infections, and 38.117 deaths.
