New Delhi, Aug 18 : Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Thursday officially inaugurated India’s very first AC double-decker electric bus in Mumbai. On his Twitter account, Gadkari said, “Ushering Sustainable Revolution! It is a great pleasure for me to announce the Ashok Leyland Electric Double-Decker Bus in Mumbai today.”
The minister also stated that the initiative will provide an exciting stimulus to the sustainability of the transportation sector.
“Giving an energy boost for sustainable transportation,” these initiatives are cost-effective and help will help the PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat through cutting down on oil imports and promoting indigenous resource and services,”” the minister wrote in another tweet.
Gadkari said that the government’s policies and vision are favorable to EV adoption with the growing demand from consumers for greener options.
