Supreme Court revises Telangana High Court order on the crackers ban.
It is known news that Telangana High court has ordered to ban Fire Crackers in the state and directed to file cases if anyone violates and sell the firecrackers.Consequently, upset with the High Court’s decision, the Telangana Crackers and Dealers Association filed a lunch motion petition in the Supreme Court on Thursday.
As a result, the Apex Court has revised the decision of Telangana High Court and permitted for the crackers sale and firing.
However, the ban on the crackers sale and firing remain the same in areas where the air quality index is low.People at the places where the air quality index is high can celebrate Diwali with crackers.
In addition to that, the Supreme Court said the decision has made based on the orders given by National Green Tribunal (NGT).The Supreme Court said, only ten states have high pollution levels to ban firecrackers, and Telangana doesn’t fall into the list.
However, the apex court has permitted for only two hours for lighting the firecrackers, leaving the timing to the state government.Of late, the Telangana Crackers and Dealers Association has got a sigh of relief with the Supreme Court’s decision.
