FIR filed against BDA officials over Rs 1.70 Cr bribe received in K’taka

70 crore and cheating a homemaker after promising to get a compensation for acquired land, police said on Wednesday.Bengaluru : , Nov 17, 2017 : .Police have registered an FIR against two other people in relation to alleged receiving a bribe worth Rs 1.70 crore from the Bengaluru Development Authority.They also accused them of cheating a homeowner after promising compensation for land acquired.
Hema S.Raju, the 45-year old homemaker, a resident of Jayanagar, has lodged the complaint against BDA Deputy Commissioner Shivaraj, BDA officer Mahesh Kumar and broker Mohan Kumar with the R.T.Nagar police station.Hema S.Raju (45-year-old homemaker) has filed a complaint against BDA deputy commissioner Shivaraj, Mahesh Kumar, and Mohan Kumar at the R.T.Nagar Police Station.

The complainant has alleged that the accused Mohan Kumar had even threatened to get her killed by giving ‘supari’ if she continued to make phone calls to him.According to the complainant, Mohan Kumar threatened to kill her if she made more phone calls to him.

The complainant Hema had been approaching BDA for a compensation amount for her 2.34 acre land in Hennur and Srirampura localities of Bengaluru, acquired for development of Arkavathi Layout in 2013.Hema, the complainant had approached BDA to seek compensation for 2.34 acres of land she acquired in Srirampura and Henur localities in Bengaluru for Arkavathi Layout development in 2013.

The woman said that the accused officer Mahesh Kumar told her that another accused Shivaraj had kept her files pending and got him transferred from the Land Acquisition.

According to the woman, Mahesh Kumar had told her about another accuser Shivaraj and she got him transferred from Land Acquisition.

Mahesh Kumar further told her that if she wanted her work to be done, he should again get the same posting.

Mahesh Kumar also told her that she should get another posting if her work is to be completed.He also told her that for doing that they will have to talk to accused Mohan Kumar, a broker.

She was also informed by him that accused Mohan Kumar (a broker) will be required to discuss the matter.

Accordingly, the complainant met Mohan Kumar in January, 2020.

The complainant was seen by Mohan Kumar on January 20, 2020.He demanded Rs 1.50 crore bribe to get the compensation amount released.To get his compensation, he demanded Rs 1.50 cr bribe.She gave Rs 50 lakh bribe on the same day, the complainant said in her plea.

In her plea, she said that the complainant gave Rs 50 Lakh bribe the next day.

She said after this Mahesh Kumar was transferred to the Land Acquisition department to facilitate the movement of her files.After this Mahesh was moved to the Land Acquisition department in order to allow her to move the files.BDA Deputy Commissioner Shivaraj had taken Rs 20 lakh as bribe at this juncture, she said.

She claimed that Shivaraj, the BDA deputy commissioner had received Rs 20 lakh in bribes at this point.

“In a phased manner the three accused got a total amount of Rs 1.10 crore from me.The three men accused obtained a combined amount of Rs 1.10 million from me.Accused Mohan Kumar kept on calling me and took Rs 60 lakh in addition after blackmailing that he would stall the movement of my file.Mohan Kumar, the accused kept calling me.He also demanded Rs 60 lakh after blackmailing me to stop my file from moving forward.But, even after paying money, I didn’t get the compensation amount,” she mentioned in her complaint.She stated that she didn’t receive the amount of compensation even though she had paid money.

When Hema contacted accused Shivaraj, he told that he was transferred to a different post and he is not concerned with her case any more.Hema reached out to Shivaraj and told her that he had been transferred to another post, so he doesn’t care about the case anymore.

Broker Mohan Kumar threatened her that he would get her killed if she pursued the case.She was threatened by Broker Mohan Kumar that he would kill her if the case is not pursued.The police are now investigating her complaint.Her complaint is being investigated by the police.
