Kerala congress minister and the only female, tribal minister in the office P.K Jaya Lakshmi married a farmer, who happens to be her childhood friend and relative.P.K.Jayalakshmi entered wedlock with her childhood friend C.A.Anilkumar.He is the son of the late Annan and Leela.
The bride and the groom belong to the Kurichiya tribe
The wedding was attended by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Opposition Leader V.S.Achuthanandan, ministers, and legislators and who-is-who of Kerala politics.Before stepping into the decorated marriage platform, Jayalakshmi touched the feet of Chandy and Achuthanandan in a bid to seek their blessings as her cabinet colleagues looked on.
Jayalakshmi, in her early thirties, is a first time MLA of Congress and was elected to Assembly from Mananthavady (SC) segment.She is an ace archer and a silver medalist in state level competitions.
She is a graduate in Communicative English from Kannur University and holds a diploma in Computer Science.She belongs to the Kurichya Community, one of the tribal communities in Kerala.
Anil Kumar (36) is the grandnephew of the bride’s father Kunhaman.A marriage feast was also arranged for the guests at the wedding venue.P.K.Jaya Lakshmi kept silent all through and even before it as it was their tribe ritual to do so.
