Security forces at the border of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha opened fire on Maoists on Wednesday in the Peddampalli forest area of Visakhapatnam district.This created a tense atmosphere at the border.
Also, this resulted in an exchange of fire between the Maoists and the police.As per the reports, the Maoists escaped from police firing and fled into the forest.
Police have launched a combing operation in the forest for the escaped Maoists.However, frequent firings have taken place between Maoists and the police in the Manyam area of the Visakhapatnam district.
Local police said that the Maoist movements are high in the border region of Odisha.Police are taking steps to eradicate Maoism.
Police have increased security in the areas where there are traces of Maoist movements in the Visakhapatnam district.The government is also giving high priority to development programs in Maoist-affected areas.
The rulers are focusing on employing the youth in the area to stop them from entering Maoism.
Also, the surrendered Maoists said that recruitment among the Maoists has been drastically reduced with the measures being taken by the government and the police in recent days.
