New Delhi, Aug 26 : Former Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) Krishnamurthy Subramanian will be the Executive Director for India at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from November onwards.The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC), in an order issued on Thursday, stated that Subramanian will serve an appointment for three years or until the ACC issues further instructions are issued, beginning the 1st of November.
Subramanian is currently an Associate Professor at the Indian School of Business, was the Chief Economic Advisor between the years 2018 until 2021.
The order also mentioned the fact that Subramanian is set to succeed Surjit Bhalla as the new president of the IMF who will retire on October 31st.
