Agartala : , Nov 17, 2017 : Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister, stated Wednesday that more than 10,000 farmer producer organisations (FPOs), are being established across the country in order to use new technology in agriculture with a focus on the farmers’ economic benefits.
The minister said that the FPOs would support the farmers in various aspects, ranging from input procurement to market linkages and promotion of their products.

Minister said FPOs will support farmers in many aspects.These include input procurement, market links and promotion.

Earlier this year, the Central government had approved and launched the central sector scheme of ‘Formation and Promotion of FPOs’ to form and promote 10,000 new FPOs till 2027-28 with a total budgetary outlay of Rs 6,865 crore.The Central government approved the launch of the central sector program of “Formation and Promotion of FPOs” earlier this year.

This scheme will form and promote 10,000 FPOs until 2027-28, with an estimated budget of Rs 6,865 Crore.

“For the socio-economic development of the northeastern states and the region’s all-round development, the Central government is working on a mission mode,” Tomar said while addressing a function organised at the College of Fisheries in Tripura under the Imphal (Manipur) based Central Agricultural University.

Tomar stated that the Central government was working in a mission mode for the socio-economic growth of northeastern countries and regional all-round development.He spoke at a function held at Tripura’s College of Fisheries under Imphal (Manipur), based Central Agricultural University.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, diverse farmer-friendly projects and schemes are being implemented in the northeastern states with a targeted plan.He stated that various farmer-friendly schemes and projects are now being implemented in northeastern countries under Prime Minister NarendraModi’s leadership.This was done with a specific plan.

“Farmers are being supported in various ways.The support for farmers is varied.They are being encouraged to produce cash crops and profitable fruits and crops so that their economic position improves to a large extent.

Their economic situation is improving in large part because they are encouraged to grow cash crops as well as profitable fruit and vegetables.The government’s investments for the farmers have been reflected visibly,” Tomar said.

Tomar stated that the government has made visible its investments in farmers.

Stating that the government’s funds were not utilised properly by the previous regimes, Tomar claimed that the northeastern states are now developing themselves to be at par with the other states of the country.

Tomar stated that previous governments had not properly used government funds.He claimed that northeastern countries are developing to match the rest of the country.

On the instruction of the Prime Minister, Central ministers are often visiting the northeastern states to supervise and review the schemes and projects of various Central ministries.The Prime Minister orders that Central ministers visit the Northeastern States to review and supervise the projects and schemes of different Central ministries.

“With the support of the Central government, small, medium and big agri-based units are being developed.With the help of the central government, small, medium, and large agri-based units have been developed.

Agri-based economy has played a significant role in maintaining economic stability during adverse situations, which was evident during the Covid-19 pandemic,” Tomar pointed out.Tomar noted that the Agri-based Economy has been a key factor in economic stability and recovery during difficult times, as was demonstrated during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and the state’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also spoke at the event titled ‘Showcasing of Technology Products Cum Interface Meeting and Inauguration of Added Infrastructure’.Biplab Kumar Deb, Tripura’s Chief Minister and Pranajit Singha Ray, the State’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister spoke as well at the event entitled ‘Showcasing of Technology Products Cum Interface meeting and Inauguration of Additional Infrastructure’.
