Dy CM Sisodia writes to Delhi L-G and demands CBI to investigate in the tax toll scam

New Delhi, Aug 10 : Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia wrote on Wednesday to the Lieutenant Governor V.K.Saxena, and requested an CBI investigation into the alleged tax toll fraud of Rs 6000 million in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
“Drawing your attention to the massive corruption in Delhi’s Municipal corporation, I am writing to ask you to have the CBI investigation to investigate the issue and take swift action against those who were involved in the fraud.

The corruption has resulted in approximately $6,000 million of loss for the MCD,” said Sisodia in the letter in Hindi.

He claimed that there was fraud in the tax collection from commercial vehicles that entered the capital city.

The news comes a day following when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made accusations against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) that it was involved in a collision with two tax toll companies and caused a huge loss to the public purse.

“I am writing to the LG asking for an CBI investigation into the tax scam of the sum of Rs.6000 crore in Municipal Corporation of Delhi.The money collected from commercial vehicles that come to Delhi every day was allegedly stolen in co-operation,” Sisodia said in tweet.

He claimed that every day, 10 lakh commercial vehicles travel to Delhi and tax was collected from them but it was not allegedly make it to the MCD.

Sisodia has requested in the letter to declare this a huge fraud that needs to be immediately investigated by the CBI and that a swift action be taken against those who participated.
