The news, Vijayawada has become the gateway to the international drug racket is creating a stir in Andhra Pradesh.Recently, the Central Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials in Vijayawada has received information regarding the heroin smuggling case and seized it at Mundra port in Gujarat.

Central DRI officials have been informed that the heroin was smuggled from Afghanistan to Gujarat under the talcum powder name.While conducting inspections at Mundra port in Gujarat, a large quantity of heroin was found.

According to the DRI officials, a large consignment under talcum powder arrived at Mundra port in Gujarat from Afghanistan.When the officials conducted inspections, they were amazed to find a large amount of heroin in it.The heroin was imported under the name ‘Talcum Powder’ from a trading company called ‘Hassan Hussain Limited’ in Kandahar.

The value of the seized heroin was initially estimated at Rs 2,500 crore.

After a thorough inspection, it was determined to be worth Rs 9,000 crore.While investigating, officials have to come to know that this large consignment of heroin is scheduled to reach Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
