KTR promises one lakh double-bedroom flats very soon.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, has handed over 1,152 2BHK flats to beneficiaries at Ziaguda, Ghode-ki-Khabar and Kattela Mandi on Monday as a Dasara gift.
On this occasion, he said the construction of one lakh houses in 111 locations across Hyderabad is nearing completion.The government has prestigiously taken up this project at Rs 9,714 crore.
The government has spent Rs.95.58 crore for the houses constructed at Ziaguda, Ghode-ki-Khabar and Kattela Mandi as part of Dignity Housing programme.According to the official reports, the homes have handed over to 840 beneficiaries at Ziaguda, 192 in Ghode-ki-Khabar and 120 in Kattela Mandi.It took Rs.9 lakh for construction of each house which worth Rs.40 lakh.The government made sure of amenities like an Anganwadi, Basthi Dawakhana and library in the Dignity Housing colony.
Double-bedroom Dignity Housing scheme is a unique initiative in the country aimed at providing houses for the poor free of cost.The Minister assured the homes are not at all downgraded compared to urban family requirements and incorporated excellent infrastructure like roads, drains, streetlights, water supply, community hall, commercial centre.
