Tollywood producer Dil Raju is enjoying the success of his latest movie Varisu and is now preparing for his upcoming movie Shaakuntalam.The film is a mythological drama that features well-known actors like Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Mohan Babu, Dev Mohan, and Aditi Balan.
Shaakuntalam is being produced by Neelima Guna and directed by Gunasekhar, and is set to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on April 14.
In an interview with a national media, Raju discussed the film, including Samantha’s item song.According to Raju, Shaakuntalam is a historical or mythological tale presented through beautiful visuals and adequate emotions attached to the character Shaakuntalam.The producer believes the film will attract the family crowd.
When asked about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s item song, Raju stated that artistes are always ready to perform different roles, and it’s their profession to do so.Samantha has played different roles in the past, such as an action character in The Family Man, and in this film, she plays the lead character, Shaakuntalam.Raju does not believe that people will see Samantha in a negative light.
Raju acknowledged that South films have not done well in the Hindi belt, except for a few theatrical releases.
However, he believes that if a film has good content, it can be appreciated everywhere.With word-of-mouth and publicity, people can be enticed to watch the film.
Raju is confident that people will appreciate Shaakuntalam as the film was made with dedication and devotion.
Regarding future projects, Raju mentioned that Selfish is currently under production, and the shoot for Ram Charan’s Game Changer is almost complete.Three of the four upcoming projects are almost locked but not yet in the final stage.
