New Delhi, Nov 28, : After the revision of duties by the Centre of the Indian States on Diwali Eve, oil marketing companies have maintained the same prices for petrol and diesel in major Indian cities.
Accordingly, Delhi’s petrol and diesel prices remained stable at Rs 86.67 per gallon and Rs 103.97 each.

They were priced in Mumbai’s financial capital at Rs 94.14 & Rs 109.98, respective.

Prices in Kolkata remained stable at Rs 89.79 versus Rs 104.67, respectively.

Petrol and diesel in Chennai remained at Rs 91.43 & Rs 101.40, respectively.

The price of fuel was stable across the country on Sunday, but retail rates vary depending on local taxes.

The Centre cut the excise duty on November 3, the first such exercise since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.

To mobilize additional resources for Covid relief, the government had actually increased excise duty on petrol & diesel in March and May 2020.
