San Francisco, Nov 24, : Dell Technologies announced record third quarter results (Q3).The company generated revenue of $28.4 Billion (up 21 percent) and a net income ($3.9 billion) thanks to growth in commercial PCs, servers, and storage verticals. The company saw the highest year-overyear PC share growth in its third quarter with shipments increasing by 26.6% and global PC share rising to 17.4%.
VMware’s third quarter revenue rose 10% to $3.2 billion due to broad-based strength across a variety of products, the company announced late Tuesday.
This month, Dell completed the planned spinoff of VMware through tax-free distributions of shares to Dell investors.
“We continue to deliver strong results, with more than $13 billion in cash flow from operations on a trailing-twelve-month basis,” said Tom Sweet, chief financial officer, Dell Technologies.
Sweet said that “the digital trends are tailwinds to our business, which along with our strategy, financial flexibility, leads us to be optimistic about long-term growth prospects.”
The third quarter revenue of Dell’s client solutions group was $16.5 billion, an increase of 35 percent over the previous year.
Jeffrey Clarke, vice-chairman of Dell Technologies, stated that in the client vertical, “we are pairing Windows 11 and our Dell Optimiser integrated intelligence to deliver the most personalised productive computing environment on the world’s most intelligent PCs.” We believe that Windows 11 will continue driving demand for PCs.
