Delhi Traffic Police issue an advisory in advance of the New Year

New Delhi, 29 December : , The Traffic Police in Delhi issued Wednesday an advisory to ensure smooth traffic flow on New Year’s Eve.
According to the police, strict compliance with recent Delhi Disaster Management Authority orders (DDMA), will be enforced in the city.

Vivek Kishore (Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic) stated in an advisory that strict actions will be taken to stop drunken driving and stunt biking.

According to the Joint CP, special arrangements were made in Connaught Place’s vicinity.

The advisory stated that no vehicle may proceed to Connaught Place from the area near Mandi House or Bengali Market.

From the close of Connaught Place on December 31, 2008, 8 pm.to the end of the New Year festivities.This restriction will apply to private as well public vehicles.

Omicron is likely to make New Year’s celebrations less fun in the capital.

Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister, announced Tuesday that he would impose limitations under Level 1 in the Graded Action Response Plan.(GRAP).The restrictions will be in place because the Covid-19 positiveity rate has remained above 0.5 percent for the past few days.

The DDMA decided Wednesday not to impose any restrictions on ‘amber’ and instead continued with guidelines under yellow’.

After Lt Governor Anilbaijal presided over a virtual review of the DDMA which Kejriwal also attended, this decision was made.
