New Delhi, December 30, : .The Delhi Traffic Police said on Thursday that they had made special arrangements for pedestrian and vehicular traffic to be accommodated at India Gate from the beginning of the year.
The police advised that visitors avoid India Gate, as construction of Central Vista continues.C-Hexagon will be closed to vehicles after 10 pm in case of pedestrian traffic. The traffic advisory stated that vehicles would be diverted to Q point, roundabout MLNP Sunheri Masjid and Sunheri Masjid.
Traffic police stated that all gatherings or congregations related to social, political and religious activities and festivals are strictly prohibited in the NCT Delhi.
Heavy traffic can cause congestion as people from the capital will likely visit Delhi Zoo during the New Year.The police reminded motorists and the public to stay clear of Mathura Road, between Pragati Maidan and Hazrat Nizamuddin.
The traffic police issued an advisory on Wednesday for traffic regulation and smooth flow on New Year’s Eve.Vivek Kishore (Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic), in his advisory, stated that there will be strict enforcement against drunken driving and stunt biking.
Due to Omicron coronavirus spreading, the celebrations of new year in the capital will likely be diminished.
The country’s highly transmissible Omicron count has reached 961.Delhi, with 263 cases, has the most Omicron-infected people.
