New Delhi, Aug 27 : Delhi Police have refused permission for comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show that was scheduled to be held in the capital city on August 28 , citing the law and order reason.The previous time in the past, earlier, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) had sent an open letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora to stop his show.
There was a chance that the VHP might protest against the show , which could result in instances of law and order.
The police from the district then wrote an investigation report and submitted it to the licensing unit , noting that if the show takes place in the future, it could cause tensions within the community.
Joint CP Licensing Director Om Prakash Mishra said to IANS: “We can’t grant permission to any show that disrupts our harmony as a community and violates the law and order.The local police have sent us an investigation after which we’ve cancelled the request.”
