He also attempted to serve the notification to defendants (Manimekalai and others) via e-mail as well as WhatsApp.

“In the light of the arguments that were made, summons should be issued again in all ways, including e-mail, as well as Whatsapp.” the judge ordered.

The issue will be considered on the 1st day of November.

In the beginning in July the court had issued summonses to Manimekalai.

The argument made by attorney Raj Gaurav contended that the poster of the film shows smoking goddesses which not only hurts the religious beliefs of people who are Hindus but also goes in violation of the fundamentals of morality and decency.

In addition to the filmmaker summons and notices, they were also sent out to her business, Touring Talkies Media Private Limited.

The debate had gotten heated when Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra stated that she was entitled as an individual to envision the goddess Kaali as a meat-eating, alcohol-adhering god, since every person has their own method of praying.
