Los Angeles, Nov 28, : Daniel Dae Kim, actor, would not consider joining a reboot of “Lost” unless the original creators were present. According to aceshowbiz.com, Kim played Jin-Soo Kwon for six years.
He said that he is often asked if his character would be recast or spun-off.
“It was an extremely special time in my lives.
and I can’t imagine it’s been twenty years ago already,” he said to ‘Good Morning America.
He said, “If the powers-that-be want to do a restart of it, I would just wanna ensure that it’s done right.
I thought the people behind the series ., Damon(Lindelof), and J.J.Abrams (Abrams) were amazing and I’d like to see what they have got to say about the subject before I weigh in.
The actor was not happy with the portrayal of Asian stereotypes in his character.
He was concerned about how viewers would perceive his role as Jin-Soo Kwon’s dominant husband to Sun, Yunjin Kim’s submissive wife, if their characters didn’t change beyond the pilot episode in 2004.
In an interview with the BBC earlier this year, he stated that his greatest fear was that Lost’s pilot would air.But the series would not.Because if you saw the pilot as my character in its entirety, you would have that stereotype.
“While we were filming, Damon Lindelof sat down with me and J.J.Abrams, and I said, ‘Guys this character cannot progress in a similar way.’ They basically said, “Trust us.” It was the best decision I made.
