Mumbai, December 13, 2013 : .Fatima Sana Shah and Sanya Melhotra, a duo from ‘Dangal,’ have joined Meghna Gulzar for Meghna Gulzar’s film ‘Sam Bahadur,’ which was based on the story of late Army Chief General Sam Manekshaw, one of India’s most admired war heroes. This will be the third film they have together, after ‘Dangal’ and ‘Ludo.As the country nears the 50th anniversary the 1971 Bangladesh liberation War, Meghna Gulzar’s birth coincides with the announcement.
Vicky Kaushal will bring the character of General Sam Manekshaw to life.Sanya Malhotra, Manekshaw’s wife and strength, will portray Silloo.
Fatima Sana Shahi takes the place of Indira Gandhi who was the first woman Prime Minister in the country.

General Sam Manekshaw’s illustrious military career spanned four decades as he saw five wars.He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and the decisive victory of the Indian Army in the 1971 Indo-Pak war was under his command as Chief of Army Staff.
