Tehran, November 21st : , A cyberattack against Iran’s Mahan Airlines was defeated, an airline official announced Sunday. Amir Hossein Zolanvari (manager of Mahan Airlines’ public relations) confirmed that the cyberattack occurred earlier in the day and said “this isn’t a new problem.” According to Xinhua, such attacks have been reported before.Each time they were controlled by the company.
According to Mahan, the cyber security team at Mahan acted quickly and intelligently in order to stop the attack.
Mahan flight operations are conducted according to schedule.Future flights will follow the same schedule.He also noted that any changes in flight schedules will be communicated to passengers.
Mahan Airlines is currently working on a statement in order to explain the extent of the problem, he stated.
Social media reports indicated that the website was unavailable on Sunday morning and it could have been compromised.
