Under-19 player Priyam Garg shines as Sunrisers Hyderabad crush Chennai Super Kings by seven runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad continues their winning streak as young Priyam Garg plays a match-winning knock of unbeaten 51 (26) against Chennai Super Kings.
Winning the toss, SRH was straight away elected to bat first but hasn’t got the start they wanted as the captain himself struggled to get quick runs.On the pitch which turned well for the bowlers, Warner returned to the dressing room for 28(29) after Bairstow got for a duck.
Though Manish Pandey tried to handle the situation, Williamson run-out pushed SRH into a critical position.
However, its Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma 31 (24) who uplifted the spirit of SRH together scoring 82 runs for the team.
At the end of the innings, SRH was in a commanding position at 164 for 5 in 20 overs.With the return of Ambati Raidu, the score was gettable for Chennai.
But it became a difficult task as soon as the yellow batsmen stepped on to the pitch which supported the bowlers well with spin and bounce in the second innings as well.
The win was inevitable for SRH as CSK was 114 for 5 at 17.5 overs.However, with Dhoni at the crease, 28 runs in an over are gettable for CSK.But the 18-year-old Abdul Samad, though started with a wide that went for four, has bounced back and restricted Dhoni from playing big shots.In the end, the seven-run win has pushed SRH to the fourth place in the points table.
