USA Cricket stated in a statement that they will continue to work with Cricket Ireland (ICC) and Cricket Ireland (CRIC) to prevent more losses.

USA Cricket and Cricket Ireland continue to collaborate with the ICC to make sure the remaining series are possible.”The first One-Day International between the USA and Ireland Men’s International Series was cancelled on Boxing Day due to a positive case of COVID in the umpiring team.This occurred during ongoing testing in the COVID-managed environment.” said the statement.

The statement stated that “All four umpires have been made unavailable to take part in the first ODI, with three of those umpires having negative tests being deemed close contacts to one positive case.”

As per plan, the second and third ODIs will be held on December 28-30, and 30.
