Tewari stated in a series tweets that Congress may not be as liberal or progressive as the majority of other parties due to the rise of right-wing populism.

This does not necessarily mean that we must abandon our core beliefs.RSS-Jana Sangh – BJP was on the wrong side for Cultural wars at the end of 2nd World War, and this lasted close to seventy years.

They did not abandon their core values. He said that he had drawn/delineated ideological faultlines and urged Congressmen to read Discovery of India & Glimpses of World History.

According to the Congress leader, Gandhian Humanism and Nehruvian Pluralism are two separate strands of pre-Independence Congress ideology. After Gandhi’s assassination on January 1948 Nehru legitimately maintained his strict separation between church and state.

It allowed India to recover from a bloody partition on religious lines, while Pakistan was left to its own devices.Multi-ethnic, multi-religious nations that allow any religion to take centre stage in politics for an interminable period of time will only exacerbate civilisational grievances going back millennia.

This is antithetical to the modern Constitutional state idea that Nehru Ambedkar Maulana Azad, millions of patriots have sacrificed their lives for.

Tewari stated Wednesday that Congress should refrain from philosophically engaging in any debate that is far removed from its core ideology.

He stressed that party members should adhere to their core beliefs and not change them as party leaders tried in the past to create a’soft Hindutva’ to combat the BJP.

He stated that only those who are committed to ‘Liberalism or Secularism” should join the party.”If you don’t want religion being part of politics, then the right-wing parties should have it, not Congress which is committed to secularism.”
