Bengaluru, Nov 24, : .Yusuf Sharif, alias scrap Babu and Congress candidate from Bengaluru Urban has declared Rs 1,743 Crore assets in his affidavit before the Election Commission to become the richest politician in the state. M.T.B., the Minister for Small Scale Industries and Municipal Administration of the ruling BJP government, was earlier this year.Nagaraj, who had assets in excess of Rs 1,200 crore, was considered the richest politician in the state.Sharif now surpasses him.
Yusuf, 54, stated in his affidavit that he owned a watch worth Rs 1.10 cr and that he has 4.8 kg of gold and hundreds of acres of non-agricultural land around Bengaluru.His total assets are worth Rs 1,593.27 cr.Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood actor, has bought him a Rolls Royce Phantom car.Transport officials took the vehicle away because it was missing documents.
Yusuf, the oldest of the 14 children, grew up in poverty.He runs multiple businesses including real estate.Sources claim that his properties have a value of more than Rs 4,000 crore.
Yusuf Babu was born in Kolar Gold Fields, (KGF).He was employed in the scrap material section of BharatGold Mines.
His father owned a bakery, and he became an auto driver after it was closed down.He later took up scrap business, which propelled him to new heights.
Sharif’s main business is land sales and buying.He has Rukasana Taj, Shazia Tarannum, and five children.Yusuf has listed Rs 100 crore worth of movable assets, and Rs 1,643.59 million worth of immovable property.
