Confidence in the institution is slowly eroding Ground reality is troubling, Sibal to SC

New Delhi, Sep 13 : Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, on Tuesday, argued before the Supreme Court that the confidence in the institution is slowly fading and the actual reality is troubling him.
Appearing before the bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and B.V.Nagarathna, he declared: “We have great regard for the chair you are sitting on, this is a relationship that can’t be broken between the bench and the bar.”

He added that the reality of the world is a problem for the man who is like him.The bench pointed out that the bench and the bar are the two wheels of the chariot.

Sibal said these words while defending Abdulla Azam Khan, the son of SP leader Azam Khan.He was arguing against the revocation of his election from the Suar seat in 2017.

He argued that he was not eligible on the basis that he was under the age of.Abdullah Khan was allegedly accused of falsifying his age on his education certificates.

Sibal stated: “Whether they win or lose the case doesn’t matter, but trust in institutions is gradually eroding.”

The bench said that the side that lost should also return satisfied.

Azam Khan’s son has filed a petition with the apex court to block the Allahabad High Court, which declared his election invalid from the Suar Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

The high court had ruled that he was not more than 25 years old of age, and therefore was ineligible to fill the position in the state legislature of the state.
