Chennai, December 30, : .The Coimbatore Police arrested several activists on Thursday including Thanthai Dravidar Kazhagam leaders (TPDK) who staged demonstrations against RSS to protest the conduct of a “shakha” and camp within a school in the city. K.Ramakrishnan (TPDK General Secretary), addressed the protest and said that the actions of the RSS will create fear among ordinary citizens.
According to police, the protestors attacked the school in which the RSS was holding its orientation program for lower-level cadres.From December 24, the programme “Prathamik Shiksha Varg”, was taking place within school grounds and would end on Friday.
Ramakrishnan, who was in agitation at the time of Ramakrishnan’s arrest, was taken from that area by force and placed inside a vehicle belonging to police.
IANS was informed by him that the RSS spreads hate and mistrust among people.
The police shouldn’t have consented to its presence in school grounds.The protest was held to raise awareness about the RSS’s activities around the globe.
The local population now understands what RSS is all about and its goals.
All the protestors were arrested by police and taken to Villankurichi, near Coimbatore.
