Coda’ actor Troy Kotsur recovers Oscar trophy following Jeep vandalism, and thanks the police

Los Angeles, Aug 15 : American actor Troy Kotsur who was the first actor deaf to be awarded an Academy Award for his performance in the come-of-age comedy drama ‘Coda’, nearly was robbed of his Oscar trophy and Jeep in an armed robbery.
The actor was honored by his home town of Mesa in Arizona.

He posted via Twitter that a vehicle criminal jumped into his Jeep and fled.He was to be recognized for his feat in being the first actor who is deaf to be awarded an Oscar in the past, so he took the award with his to the awards ceremony as reported by Deadline.

Kotsur initially tweeted that “a young child” was responsible for the slaying.According to Deadline reports, the city police were able to locate the Jeep with the award still inside.

Kotsur took a selfie with police, expressing his gratitude for their hard work.He is a member of a police family with several relatives who been employed by police.

Kotsur won his Best Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar for his work as a father and fisherman in “Coda”.He is still in Mesa and even mentioned Mesa as a Mesa city in his Oscars acceptance speech.
