Rythu Vedikas help farmers in organising themselves for a wide range of benefits.
As a part of strengthening the State agriculture sector, Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate ‘Rythu Vedika’ sheds on Saturday.These sheds will help the farmers to organise themselves for various benefits, thereby empowering the agriculture sector in the State.
The Chief Minister will visit the Mandal headquarters village of Kodakandla in Jangaon district on Saturday afternoon.He will address a public meeting to explain the conceptualisation of the Rythu Vedikas.
The Telangana State government has allocated Rs 572.22 crore for the construction of Rythu Vedikas, and each one costs at Rs 22 lakh.As a part of 2020-21 budget, the government has assigned Rs 350 crore and started the work for Rythu Vedikas.Out of the total 2,601 Rythu Vedikas, the government has completed 1,580, and remaining are in various stages of construction.
According to the official design, the Rythu Vedikas have two rooms and two toilets with an area of 2,046 sq feet.Drinking water connections are being provided to Rythu Vedikas under Mission Bhagiratha while the electricity department provides electricity connections to all Rythu Vedikas.
