Chief Minister YS Jagan has inquired about the Tirupati Ruia Hospital incident.He ordered an inquest into the incident.
He ordered an inquiry into the incident and a report to be submitted as soon as possible.He directed the officers to take necessary action immediately.
Minister Alla Nani spoke to the Ruia hospital superintendent and asked for details on the incident.The Superintendent Dr.Bharathi briefed Alla Nani on the incident.She added that eleven people have died at Rua Hospital after their oxygen supply was disrupted.
The condition of another five patients appears to be critical.
Chittoor District Collector M Harinarayanan said the oxygen pressure in Rua disrupted for 8 minutes at 8 pm and the doctors immediately responded and averted a major accident.
He said it was unfortunate that 11 people died within 8 minutes.
Chittoor District Collector said that there will be no problem from now on as bulk oxygen cylinders were made available as an alternative.He advised the people not to panic.He clarified that there will be no shortage of oxygen from now on.He said a thousand people were being treated at Ruia Hospital, which has up to 700 beds and 30 doctors are treating the corona patients.
