Cheteshwar Pujara shares his opinion on IPL auctions and tagging him as a ‘Test specialist’.
Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the finest batsmen India has produced.
But his talent has been limited to just Test cricket.Though he is scoring more runs in Test cricket, he is not able to get enough opportunities in ODIs and T20s.
Speaking about this with PTI, Pujara shared his opinions on his present situation.
Pujara spoke his mind that being tagged as a test specialist has affected his chances in ODIs and T20s drastically.
But he can’t do much about it as it’s a perception of someone else.Further, he added, many good batsmen like Hashim Amla are unsold in IPL auctions, just because they are considered as Test batsmen.
The IPL auctions are always tricky and unsold doesn’t mean that batsmen like him are ineligible to white-ball cricket.
Answering to a question, if he has given a chance again to play in IPL, Pujara said, he will prove himself better than anybody could in the short format.
Pujara is currently the 7th ranked Test batsman in the world.In his decade cricketing career, he only got 5 ODIs to prove himself in 50 overs game.
