Fatorda, Goa, Dec 14 : , Undefeated Chennaiyin FC will try to put on a ‘perfect show’ against Mumbai City FC.Bozidar Bandovic is the head coach of the team as they prepare for the fifth Hero Indian Super League game at the PJN Stadium in Mumbai. We have analysed and seen all of their matches (Mumbai City).They’re a great team.The plan is in place and will be followed.I am confident that we’ll deliver a great performance.They’re not only high-pressing, but they are also very good in attack.” Bandovic stated during Tuesday’s virtual press conference.
He said, “You must have an equal balance of attack and defense.If you fail to defend and give chances, then Mumbai City (Mumbai City), will score.”
Marina Machans is currently the unbeaten team and has conceded the fewest goals of any team.
The coach was accompanied by Lucasz Gikiewicz from Chennaiyin FC.He is very impressed with these young players and has enjoyed sharing his own experiences.Former Polish footballer, Lucasz Gikiewicz also stated that it is more important to win matches rather than talk about goals.
It’s not all about stats, like how many goals Lucasz (Vladimir Koman) scored, or other players.Three points is the minimum.
Gikiewicz stated that the team is larger than any individual player.
Both the teams share a healthy rivalry between them as they have played each other 14 times in the ISL with Chennaiyin leading the head-to-head with six wins while MCFC have five.
The Montenegrian coach further emphasised on the importance of improvement and advised his players to play with more freedom from the word go.
“We have had improvement in our performances especially in the last match we had a very good performance.We didn’t win but I’m happy with the character and reaction players showed after we conceded a goal.I want them to believe in themselves.
Defence and transition wise we are good and we can do more (better) in attacking” the 52-year-old coach concluded.
