The Telangana police arrested the newly appointed chief of TPCC and Malkajgiri MP, Revanth Reddy.The Telangana Congress is protesting against the hike in the fuel prices in the state.
Today, they staged the ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ protest.
Congress leaders from different parts of the state left for Hyderabad at the call of the TPCC.
However, the Telangana police intercepted them and made house arrests as the event was not allowed.
The Telangana state police arrested Revanth Reddy while he was on his way to Raj Bhavan from the Indira Park.He addressed a meeting at Indira Park.Revanth Reddy crossed the barricades set up the police and tries to enter Raj Bhavan forcefully.
Along with Congress activists, Revanth Reddy marched towards Raj Bhavan.Against this backdrop, the police arrested Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders and moved them to the police station.
With the arrest of Revanth Reddy, a tense atmosphere prevailed at the Raj Bhavan.There was a scuffle between the Congress activists and the police.
Some Congress activists went along with the police vehicle carrying Revanth Reddy.The police arrested the Congress leaders and shifted them to the station in DCM.
